Plagiarism

In the society we live in today, information sharing is unavoidable. We share what we ate for breakfast lunch and dinner, our outfits, or relationships, and any aspect of our live's we feel may be relevant. Anyone can permanently capture any of this information if they please, most of the time without anyone ever knowing. So why not make art out of it? I view it the similarly to repurposing something you find. Someone else originally made it, but when you're repurposing it with your own creative intent, there is no shame in taking someone else's work. However, plagiarizing someone else's work, say, for a class, where you copy their ideas word for word for the same purpose is immoral. But then again most learning is just copying someone elses ideas so yeah.

Reading Response: Life Feed

Webcams are a unique tool in the world of video art. They are able to give an inside perspective on the parts of people's lives that are usually kept private. Their subtle appearance due to their massively widespread popularity gives them an opportunity to be hidden in plain sight. The use of this advantages not only to explore other peoples lives but an artists own life is what makes a webcam a successful art form.
